Content marketing is queen. If you’re not on it, you need to be all up in it. This is something we stress big-time when advising on marketing strategy, running social channels, and implementing branding.
Ok so, first of all: what is it? In English: Content marketing is a new-age form of marketing focused on creating, publishing, and tossing around content for a targeted audience online… perfect example: Blogs, Vlogs (we see you influencers), Videos, Social Media Posts. Content is what you put in front of your consumers. It’s what defines your message. YOU NEED CONTENT to MARKET.
You may be thinking… “Yeah, I know what it is.” But check this: “Almost 50% of buyers will view up to 5 pieces of content before engaging with a sales rep, companies that keep blogs can get up to 67% more leads than those that don’t, AND inbound marketing close rates are still 8 to 10 times higher than outbound efforts.”
(In case you’re wondering, outbound marketing is the more traditional stuff – TV, radio, billboards).
Additionally – companies who are churning out content are seeing a 10% better RETENTION of consumers… especially when they are pushing out content that are customer success focused (testimonials, reviews, etc).
Ok wow – take a breather. This is some real stuff! Content marketing is so crucial to your brand identity. The more that consumers see your branded content, the more trust you gain from your potential future customers.
So the catch to it all? You have to be consistent. You have to post to these avenues multiple times a week, with your brand identity front and center, in a relevant and engaging manner. You have to engage back. Like those comments, respond to those comments, repost cool UCG (user generated) content!
Bottom line is, content marketing = a better chance of being seen and better chance of quality engagement. Content also adds to your brand identity and builds trust from your future consumers.
